The Lady of the Week

Yvette Cason is a singer, songwriter, writer, television and film actress. She studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Yvette is proud to be a part of the coalition Just One Step For Democracy, using her creative voice for activism and justice.  Together with her co-writers Sylvia McCalla and Bobby Daye, they have written THIS VOICE.

A Philadelphia native, Shani has been in the business of helping women for over the past two decades. Her Career Started at Drexel University, at the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership. She served as Program Coordinator for the community project "Conversations on Women's Health," a grassroots program created to educate women on Health and Wellness in underserved areas of Philadelphia.

A North Carolina native, Latonya has performing since the age of 10, when she discovered she had a singing voice good enough for the church choir.   In 1982, after graduating from high school, she attended Howard University as an Architectural Design major. 

Dr. Danielle R. M. Lawton is a native Texan. She was born and raised in the small town of Bay City and has been enjoying the city life of Los Angeles for almost three years now. With almost 20 years of experience, Dr. Lawton is a Licensed Social Worker, Credentialed Educator, and a Veteran who honorably served in the United States Army.   

Claudine Cooper is a wife, mother of three and an Inglewood based fitness trainer with over 25 years of experience.  Passionate about access & equity in the wellness space, Claudine created a program that offers free outdoor workouts in her neighborhood.

Angila Curvey-Chukwu, is a Certified Life Coach, Writer, Speaker, Founder and CEO of A’Michealle, Incorporated, a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower and strengthen self-esteem and community through education, advocacy, mentorship, encouragement, and organization as well as promoting self-worth and respect.

Tamra Goins, Comedy Executive, Producer, Influencer, and Talent Innovator.

Well known for her work, she has provided services for celebrities and the local elite. Her commitment to the industry through education and mentorship has laid the foundation for many other industry leaders, such as salon owners, celebrity stylists, platform artists, and beauty branding gurus.  The epitome of a trailblazer, she plans to inspire a new generation of beauty professionals. Considered a serial entrepreneur, she feels it’s never too late to step out on faith and try something new. This approach in life is why her list of accomplishments has never stopped growing.
